With our significant (>5 million acres) helium land base, team of professionals with proven expertise in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin, and a partnership on joint lands plus strategic investment from North American Helium (NAH), HEVI has made significant progress on its defined path to value creation:
- First helium discovery in Q4/23 with five additional discoveries in 2024 and 2025
- Development plans in Mankota ongoing with 3D seismic shoot in Q1-26 and drilling expected to resume in Sept/26
- Soda Lake processing facility (20% WI) completed, enabling quick tie-in of future discoveries
In addition, HEVI continues to leverage its skilled technical expertise to focus on internally generated helium resource opportunities and future drilling prospects across its extensive, world-class land holdings.
Management
Malcolm Adams
President & CEO
Mr. Adams brings nearly 30 years of Canadian energy sector experience spanning engineering, private equity, corporate development and entrepreneurship. A professional engineer and corporate director, he has founded and led multiple energy and clean‑technology companies and has been involved in substantial capital raising and transactional activity across the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. Most recently, Mr. Adams served as founder and CEO of COREO Inc. and before that as President and CEO of Black Crane Energy Corp., building platforms at the intersection of energy, innovation and sustainability. He also previously held senior technical, financial and strategic roles with Shell, ARC Resources, ARC Financial Corp., Surge Energy and Annapolis Capital, where he focused on reservoir engineering, acquisitions, corporate strategy and growth‑oriented investment. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, is registered as a P.Eng., and has earned the ICD.D designation while serving as a director of several private and public energy companies.
Patrick Mills
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Mills has over 30 years of executive, managerial, engineering, and operations experience in the oil and gas industry in the Western Canadian Basin (WCB). Mr. Mills was instrumental in the start-up of Mustang Resources and Pegasus Oil & Gas where he held senior executive and board of director positions in the corporations. In addition, Mr. Mills has held various petroleum engineering related technical and managerial positions throughout his career with companies such as Texaco, Imperial Oil, and Startech Energy. Mr. Mills attended the University of Alberta and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Petroleum Engineering and is an accredited member of APEGA.
Kristi Kunec, CPA, CA
Chief Financial Officer
Ms. Kunec brings over 20 years of financial experience to HEVI, with a proven track record that includes leading the corporate finance, organizational planning and financial reporting functions for growing resource companies. Over the last 13 months, she has served as part-time Controller for Kanata Clean Power & Climate Technologies Corp. Prior thereto, Ms. Kunec was CFO and Corporate Secretary for Pine Cliff Energy Ltd. (TSX:PNE), where she directly contributed to PNE’s growth from ~100 boe/d to 24,000 boe/d, including numerous equity financings and acquisitions. Previously, Ms. Kunec served in Controller / Financial Reporting roles for several energy companies. After receiving a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan, she began her career at PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP in 2003, earning her CPA, CA designation in May of 2006.
John Kanderka
VP, Corporate Development
Mr. Kanderka has over 40 years of experience in the oil and gas and in the mineral sectors. Mr. Kanderka has significant corporate experience acting as an Officer and as a Director in both the private and public sectors in various roles while responsible for strategic planning, corporate finance, management, and administration. He has been a company founder and company builder with a wide array of experience in asset purchase and sale transactions, mergers, buyouts, and reorganizations. Currently Mr. Kanderka is actively a Director of Orestone Mining Corp. and is Chairman of the Board for Visionary Gold Corp. which company he had co-founded. Mr. Kanderka has been a Member of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Landmen (CAPL) since 1977 and has held the Certification as a Professional Landman since 1991.
